Feb 2 - Alayna is 22 months old

Alayna.....

  • just learned to jump
  • says "Ole!" whenever she sees hockey on TV or in the newspaper (when MSU mavs score a goal the crowd sings, Ole Ole Ole)
  • likes to color. I always know what color when I pick her up at daycare because she tends to color on her hands too!
  • helps with laundry and taking dishes out of the dishwasher
  • throws things in the garbage
  • sleeps in a "big girl" bed
  • likes Mickey Mouse and Elmo/Sesame Street characters
  • is very independent and wants to brush hair, get dressed etc by herself but gets frustrated if her coat doesn't get on right. Then we ask if we can help and she says OK
  • is left handed like her daddy
  • can say grandma and grandpa yet oftentimes calls my dad, Hugh
  • stands in a room and points to things while naming them. Her vocab is growing every day it is so amazing!
  • tries to count and it usually goes: 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
  • loves, loves books and will name and point things out
  • dances to Coldplay, Rhianna (bum, bum song she calls it), Jason Moraz, or whatever has a good beat
  • is described as being the mother by her daycare provider because she is very caring and always helpful
  • repeats or mimics what we say or noises we make (i dropped something the other day, slapped my leg and went "Ugh" so she did the exact same...hilarious!)
  • throws fits - yep, welcome to the terrible 2's!
  • will fight bed time and doesn't want to miss anything
  • likes to brush her teeth
  • loves animals
  • can catch and throw a ball
  • will sit and watch an Elmo movie
  • loves hide and seek, ring around the rosey and building forts with daddy as well as riding on his back
  • still eats a variety of foods and recently had green pepper, onion, crab, salmon, chips and salsa, chinese. She especially loves pickles (like daddy), tomatoes (grandma Evelyn would just love that!), ham and sausage (which my dad enjoys seeing).
  • is so much fun and is always giving out hugs and kisses - we are truly blessed!
