Operation Christmas Child

When Brad and I went Christmas shopping, we noticed a LOT of great stuff at the dollar section in Target so we stocked up for the annual Operation Christmas Child that our church does. For those of you who aren't familiar with it, basically you buy toys, books, clothes, hats, mittens, school supplies, soap, toothbrush, etc and box them up in shoeboxes to be sent around the world to children that need it. Our church members buy supplies throughout the year and then gather on a Sunday to put together. We have a nice routine that we sort out the items on tables, pick a box, decide if it is for a boy or girl, the certain age level and then go around the tables filling them up. Then we enjoy a potluck. It is really great to give to others and do it together in our small church family. We look forward to it every year and I think it is important for Alayna (as she gets older more so) to appreciate what she has and to give to others.
