Camping with Grandma & Grandpa

We dropped Alayna off at Grandpa & Grandma's last Wednesday so she could join them for a 4-day camping trip. This is the longest we have ever been away from Alayna and we weren't too sure about it...especially Brad.

Every year my parents go to an event called World Pork Expo in Des Moines, IA where they enjoy seeing old friends, watching hog shows, walking the booths at the trade show and camping. This was a huge event when I was growing up but the last few years has dwindled. Still, it is a nice event to go to and Alayna had a great time. As long as she could see the pigs and watch movies in the camper she was good to go. She enjoyed watching people show pigs and when she came home she told us that when she gets bigger that she is going to get a stick (mom, what is that called? a whip i said) to tap the pigs with, follow them around in a big pen and then put in a little pen. For those of you not catching on to yet, that is basically how you show a pig at fairs or competitions! She did well and was quite the chatterbox on the phone each night. When she got home she was excited to tell us all about her trip including the time they spent at the living history farm. We definitely missed her but it was good time for everyone.
