Terrible 2's

Alayna still says she is 2 when asked which is really cute but the attitude that is coming along with it isn't that adorable! For the most part she is pretty easy going but lately she has become whiney, demanding and will throw a fit depending on the situation (mainly when she is tired). Boy, does she have a temper which I believe she got from BOTH sides........well maybe more of mine, but I would like to think it is half and half. Taking trips to the mall or out to eat are sometimes a challenge. She does like to walk around but not fond of "shopping" and we usually have to scarf our meal and keep her entertained.

She already is asking us "why" or says, "I do it" and gets irritated if you don't let her. We are proud of her ability to put on her coat and shoes or turn on a movie but this independence stage can be frustrating not only to her but us as well! I am honestly a little worried about the plane ride but think I have packed enough distractions for when she gets antsy.

Every stage is an adventure and on the flip side she is at a really fun age. She sings along to songs, dances a lot, likes to run and color pictures. She is also getting really good at going potty and will tell us if she has to go. Today she went #1 and #2 in one sitting! I know, just what you wanted to hear but it is really neat because she will then run out and tell daddy that she went potty and will give him a high five. In a few weeks she will REALLY be 2 and I am sure we will have more updates to share but until then we will savor her being 23 1/2 months old!
